Wander-lust.

Again, I wanted to write a blog, but found myself bereft of ideas. So I thought I’d write another poem. This one is about the constant ache for adventure I find in my heart. Some days I feel caged in and wish I could go somewhere new, experience something different. I can’t seem to stay in one place for too long. I’m pretty sure it’s my longing for my true home, which is Heaven.

These walls, my soul cannot confine.
To always wander, I consign.
Out and abroad must I be,
In order to just be free.

I feel like a bird in a cage,
Or a letter on a page.
I am feeling oddly contained.
My path is rather restrained.

I ache for the path unknown,
Longing for wonders not shown.
Adventure is calling me on,
To wander ’til the Great Day’s dawn.

I’m hungry for knowledge of God’s green earth,
To find the wond’rous riches of its worth.
